Who are they .???

The capacity of senior management to shoot the Job in the  foot never ceases to amaze me.

Apparently the College of Policing has decided to give a draft of a police Code of Ethics an airing in the media. Such gems are that we should not get pi**ed or off our t*ts on drugs whilst on duty, neither should we engage in sexual conduct, importune members of the public in our capacity as constables of the Crown and also respect and obey the Law.

The College of Policing seems to be a refuge for those who did earn a living in ACPO or the NPIA ( National Policing Improvement Agency ) and suddenly realised they were in the firing line for  Government cuts and decided to create something to justify their existence.

Their output then was of the  'No shit Sherlock!' variety and it seems nothing has changed since.

The problem with this nonsense is that it gives the rags such as the Daily Bile even more ammunition to purvey the notion that the  police are off the rails.

The College of Polishing my own CV seems more appropriate.

Get the MP's to follow this code of ethics and then I might consider it.

No chance of that.

They make it up as they go along.

This latest Select Committee over the Plebgate saga is just a public 'Mitchell is innocent' group whilst the CPS are making a decision and considering, if any, judicial review.

They haven't forgiven us for daring to chew over the expenses scandals and putting a few away

Bit like the Press, they are still aggrieved we made a number of early morning calls to sections of the Press in the hacking scandal.

Hypocrites the lot of them
